ooohh... finally we managed to finish the prefect camp.. i mean almost finish the camp ones.. we'll make it "more perfect" when we have time this weekend
SMKDJ camp
Date: 24th May- 26th May 2008
Venue: Kuala Kubu Bharu, Ampang Pecah
We gathered in school by 7.30. Unfortunately, Gavin couldnt join us on that day because of some unfortunate incident he had the night before. Pn Choong gave us a short briefing. She divided us into 4 groups. Each group lead by a teacher. Since there was not enough space in the bus, a few of them had to go by van.
We reached our destination and headed straight to bengkel keruing. We met our camp instructors, En. Rosli and En. Shamsuddin. After another short briefing about how things are done in the camp. For example, washing your own plates(groan), putting on the bed sheet and such. We went to our dorms, unpacked, and went for initiative training. We also had a trust exercise as one of the activities. We have to catch our fellow friends with canvas as they fall. Some of them didnt try.who might it be hmm? haha its okay la guys you should have tried it! Went for lunch and some changed for the obstacle course.
Some of the rules included not touching the poles. Even the leaves! We were divided into 2 groups. Each group was given 2 logs. The first group named their logs Gavin and Jessica(What?!). We all had to do over and over again cause we made so many mistakes! Despite the exhaustion, it was super fun right? Everyone got so dirty! Especially at the commando crawl. And some of us fell into the dirtyyy water! good experience yeah? haha. Everyone who wore white ended up with brown shirts. Went for a long shower and everyone tried to scrub the mud off their clothes. Everyone rested in their dorms for quite some time. Some freaked out about Operasi Burung Hantu and some were excited about it. Finally, teacher called us to gather in the cafeteria. They asked us to be brave and just go for it because you have nothing to lose. It would be a great activity to overcome fear. (actually they told us we'd be holding hands and staying together. pfft. yeah right.) Some were really reluctant to do so! Some tears were shed. In the end, everyone went EXCEPT FOR SOMEONE EHEM..Anyway, everyone was blindfolded and made a long line shoulder to shoulder. We walked for a long time, avoiding trees and holes. All that I can say is the operation wasnt succesful because our 'lovely' prefects couldnt keep our mouths shut. Talking, gossiping and handphone ringings were heard. The operation went on for about an hour or so. Turns out we were quite near to the dorms. We got scolded by en. rosli for not being disciplined. They even said we were the worst batch! Everyone got so quiet then. Learnt our lesson! Went to the cafeteria for a midnight snack. Each of us talking about the things they had to deal with during the operation.
NEXT DAY,
Jungle trekking time! Everyone went for breakfast and then packed the essentials needed for the trekking. We were given 1 water bottle each. A lot of energy was needed for the jungle trekking. We had to climb up and down and must be sure we have a strong grip or else you might just fall and God knows what! But the view and environment was nice wasnt it? Greeneries everywhere and beautiful unpolluted rivers. Most of the guy prefects were really helpful during the activity! Samantha Chloe almost fell! but its okay she got back up(relieved). After the very long trekking, we went to the river to cool ourselves off! It was clean and refreshing.
After that, we had a cobweb activity. It was girls versus guys. The task was to get everyone to other side of the tangled web of string without touching the strings. After that, we practiced for Malam Kebudayaan. Each group had to perform a sketch containing a moral value.
Winners:
Sketch: 4th place- Group 3. 3rd place- Group 4 .2nd place- Group 1. 1st place- Group 2
Semangat DJ-ian, teamwork and muhibbah : Group 4!Teacher said The reason we won was because during Operasi Burung Hantu, our group was the only one seen making plans and stuff.
And the BOYS won a prize as well for discipline.
As a consolation gift, girls were asked to divide to 2 groups. 1st group got chocolate 2nd got cookies.
Teachers gave speeches. Went to sleep like the good little boys and girls we are :)
LAST DAY, (sobs)
Flying fox!

here are some pictures.. to refresh our memories
